Each page contains an overview and some examples of the more popular models ranging from Beginner to Expert. Radio controlled boats work almost exclusively with 2 Channel Radio systems: Channel 1 controls the throttle and Channel 2 controls the rudder. For sailboats, Channel 1 controls the servo linkage for the main sail and jib trim and Channel 2 controls the rudder. Here is what a 2 channel Transmitter from Futaba looks like:

Having been raised racing sailboats on the Long Island Sound, I have a natural affinity for boating.

Although my all time favorite now is my Enforcer Super-G gasoline powered fiberglass monohull, "Proton 2 Extreme", seen floating below in my swimming pool (no, I don't run it in the pool!).

This powerhouse can go over 40 mph in real speed and one tank of gasoline can last for over 45 minutes!
